I take it back, 100Hz is pushing it regarding horns and compression drivers I know of. I can't imagine a compression driver reaching the midbass muscle of the Fane S 8M. And I don't see why one should try, when the Fane reaches 120Hz so effortlessly....

The back chamber mechanism is good. Are you planning to do the same in the midbass horn? Since you most likely will not drive your upperbass all the way down I think that the back chamber mechanism will be more effectiv...

It is difficult to generalize but I will. As much as ribbons with each hertz down sound more and more unpleasant the low power SET amps with each hertz down in bass region more and more and more loosing ground. Ok, I am not taking about the real bass...
